Silsoe VC Lower School is committed to maintaining the highest standards of child protection, honesty, openess and accountability and as such employs a whistle blowing policy for all employees.
With regard to Educational Visits - Silsoe VC Lower School uses Central Bedfordshire Council 'EVOLVE' online management system and adheres to all policy within for each individual visit.
Our school is signed up to the Relay initiative that runs jointly between Schools, Central Bedfordshire Council and Bedfordshire Police.
Relay focuses on early notification to schools of any reported domestic abuse incidents that occur which might have a significant impact on a child in school.
The information will be passed to our safeguarding lead in confidence so that we can support those children immediately following an incident if needed.
A designated Relay Support Officer will be available to the school and to parents and carers to build relationships and offer support and advice to those who feel they would benefit from information around domestic abuse.
We are very keen to offer the best support to all our pupils and we believe this initiative is going to be extremely beneficial for all those involved. School can provide a key link for accessing much needed help and support at this difficult time for both parents and children.
