Welcome to Silsoe VC Lower School

It is a pleasure and a privilege to be Headteacher of Silsoe VC Lower School, and I am delighted to welcome you to our wonderful school.

Silsoe is a happy, nurturing and inclusive Church of England school where every child is known, valued and encouraged to flourish. Our Christian vision, “For all to flourish as confident, resilient and kind individuals who encourage one another and grow together in God’s love” (Ephesians 3:17), is at the heart of everything we do. Our school motto, “Together We Grow,” reflects our belief that we achieve more when we learn, support and celebrate together.

We have high expectations for every child, both academically and personally. Our dedicated staff provide a rich, engaging and ambitious curriculum, inspiring curiosity, developing a love of learning and helping children build the knowledge, skills and confidence they need for the future. We recognise and celebrate the uniqueness of every child, providing the encouragement, support and opportunities they need to achieve their very best.

As a Church of England school, our Christian values shape our welcoming and caring ethos. We are proud of our close links with St James' Church, the Diocese of St Albans and our wider village community. Kindness, confidence and resilience are woven through daily school life, helping our children develop a strong sense of belonging, responsibility and care for others.
