Rewards and Celebrations
At Silsoe VC Lower School, we celebrate the hard work, resilience, and positive attitudes of our children. Our rewards system recognises both individual and class achievements while reflecting our school values, ethos, and vision.
Weekly Recognition
Each week in our celebration assembly, we acknowledge children who go above and beyond:
- Behaviour for Learning Star – for children who show a positive attitude and commitment to learning, demonstrating perseverance, determination, and resilience.
- Values Leaf – for children who exemplify our school values, especially the focus value of the month.
These awards help children develop a growth mindset, take safe risks in their learning, and grow both academically and personally.
All children recognised in the celebration assembly enjoy a hot chocolate with Mrs Boyle, our Headteacher, as a special reward for their efforts.
Individual Achievements
- Children earn Dojo points for showing effort, resilience, and positive behaviour.
- Points help children work towards personal goals and reflect their ongoing achievements.
Class Achievements
- Classes earn Class Dojo points for collaborating effectively, supporting each other, and working as a team.
- This encourages a sense of community, encouragement, and shared success.
Our Ethos in Action
Our celebrations are closely linked to our school ethos and culture. Perseverance, determination, and resilience help pupils flourish as confident, resilient, and kind individuals. At Silsoe, we aim for all children to grow together in God’s love, encouraging one another while striving for personal and collective success.
