Extra-Curricular

 Extra-Curricular Activities

At Silsoe VC Lower School, we believe that learning extends far beyond the classroom. We are committed to providing a rich and varied range of extra-curricular opportunities that inspire our children, nurture their interests, develop their talents and encourage them to try new experiences.

Our extra-curricular provision reflects our Christian vision, “For all to flourish as confident, resilient and kind individuals who encourage one another and grow together in God’s love.” Through these opportunities, we aim to develop children's confidence, resilience, friendships and sense of belonging, helping every child to discover their strengths, develop new skills and experience the joy of participating alongside others.

We offer a variety of activities before school, during lunchtimes and after school, recognising the importance of making enrichment opportunities accessible to as many children as possible. Our lunchtime clubs are particularly valuable in ensuring that children who are unable to attend activities outside the school day can still benefit from these experiences.

Our clubs offer a balance of sporting, creative and musical activities, including opportunities such as art, choir and a range of sports. We recognise that every child has different interests, abilities and talents, and we aim to provide something for everyone.

Inclusivity, enjoyment and participation are at the heart of our extra-curricular provision. Our clubs are designed to encourage all children to take part, regardless of their previous experience, confidence or sporting ability. Whilst some activities naturally involve an element of friendly competition, the emphasis is on enjoyment, teamwork, developing skills, encouraging one another and celebrating personal achievements.

For children who enjoy competitive sport, we also provide opportunities to represent the school through inter-school sports festivals, competitions and other sporting events.

Through our extra-curricular activities, we seek to support children's wider personal development, wellbeing and sense of belonging, providing opportunities to build positive relationships, demonstrate our school values and flourish as individuals.

Together We Grow.
