Our Church and Christian Values
At Silsoe VC Lower School, we are proud to be a Church of England school at the heart of Silsoe. Our Christian ethos shapes everything we do, helping children grow academically, spiritually, and socially.
Strong Links with Our Local Church
We enjoy close connections with St James Church, Silsoe and are supported by the Diocese of St Albans. These partnerships give our pupils opportunities to:
- Take part in meaningful collective worship
- Celebrate Christian festivals and local church services
- Explore and experience Christian values in everyday life
Spiritual Support from Our Church Leaders
We are delighted to welcome:
- Rev Simon Moore – leads worship and supports our RE curriculum
- Rev Louise Moore – leads worship, supports learning, and serves as a school governor
- Rev Olivia Davies – leads worship and joins us weekly at lunchtime for reflection and creative prayer activities in our prayer space
Our pupils enjoy these opportunities and often share their own prayers and reflections during worship, helping to create a caring and spiritually rich school community.
Living Our Christian Values
Our Christian values guide the way we learn, play, and grow together. At Silsoe VC Lower School, every child is encouraged to:
- Be reflective, compassionate, and responsible
- Develop spiritually, morally, and socially
- Flourish in a welcoming and supportive environment
