There were 11 other schools at the festival. When we got there we started eating our lunch for some energy, also to wait for the other schools to finish their festival. Then we started. We first went over to the 5 strides we all got really far. Afterwards we went over to the vertical jump, again we all did really well at it I think everyone tried their best on all the games. The next game was a bit of a challenge for me it was called chest push you had to throw with a 1kg ball so it made it harder then it could be. Next we moved over to the javelins. I wasn’t particularly looking forward to this one but when it came up to my turn, I surprised myself by getting quite far but not that far. All of it was fun but I hoped the rest of it was fun. After we moved over to the speed bounce. This one had to include focus and rhythm to keep you going nonstop. It was quite tricky, even Mrs Shattock found it tricky. Finally, we moved over to our last athletics activities which was long jump. I found out that it if you fall over then points were taken away. It did that but now I know not to get really far but jump in your reach.
After we finished the athletics games, we went over to have a break before we started the running relay and hurdles games. In our break, the teenagers started to get the running relay equipment out. Before we started, they explained what we had to do. The first two people had to decide who would go first. The first person ran off the mat to do their laps with the stick in their hand. When they had completed their laps, they had to pass it over to the next person so they could do their laps. The last person had to finish by crossing the finish line. This was a problem because some boys went to the mat but didn’t cross the line so they had to run that again the girls. When we finished the relay races, we went straight on to the hurdles races. That’s what I was competing. We had another break after that because the teenagers had to put huddles out. When they finished, the man at the front explained what we had to do and then the first two people from a school went up to the mat and got ready. The whistle went and they were off. After everyone had completed their races it was the TEACHERS RACE!!!!!!When they said that, Mrs Gates was just like NO! so we choose Mrs Gates to run the race. And she won!
Now it was time to calm down because it was time for the SCORES!!!!!!Each school was called to come over and sat in lines of girls and boys for each school. We came 4th. I think that means that we all worked as hard as we could have, showed the values teamwork, tolerance, sportsmanship, determination, co-operation and courage. So on the whole, everyone had fun and it’s not about winning but that we took part.
