Today it was the faith tour and we went on a double decker bus. Our first stop was the gurdwara for sikh religion. We started by taking our shoes off and covering our heads as a means of respect. We went to the area where they pray and had a tour around it. We learnt about lots of things in the Gurdwara. The eigth
guru died at 8 years old. The first Guru was called Guru Nanak. We then went to the mosque that was really close to the Gurdwara. We again had to take our shoes off and the boys could then take their hats off but the girls couldn't. He first told us about the 5 pillars and who the muslim prophets were. He told us that god is one. People of the muslim faith have to pray 5 times a day to Mecca. About 5 million people pray at mecca! He told us about fasting this is when people don't eat in the day and eat when the sun sets. He showed us a Quaran which is written in Arabic people read from right to left!!?? We then went to the church and had lunch. Some people tried on robes which is what priests would wear in the different seasons. They had a procession around the church. Then we had a look around the church there was a quiet area and there was an area for little children near the font. Then we went back to school then we had a play.
