On Thursday 11th January, 6 year 3's and 6 year 4's went to John Bunyan school in Bedford to take part in an athletics festival. We left school at lunchtime and did not return to school until 4 in the afternoon! We took part in events like the javelin, relay races, standing long jump and vertical jump. We had to show our values of determination to keep going when it was hard and friendship when we were supporting each other. Mrs Gates was very proud of us for our sportsmanship and won the teachers race! At the end of the day we had a boys relay race and were proud that we worked together and won that race too! In the end we came 4th out of a possible 9 but we know we did our best and had a really fun day.
Today, the year 3 and 4 children teamed up with the visiting children from Ramsey Lower school to show the school the amazing singing they have learnt. They have been working with Lindsay Monteeth for 10 weeks learning 10 songs. We were treated to 'Moon', 'Like a Roman' and 'Power in me' among others. Reggie (year 1) said "It's the best concert I have ever seen." Mrs Purdue and Mrs Monteeth praised the children for their listening, determination and how well they have engaged over the last term. We look forward to them taking part in the larger concert at the corn exchange.
Today we have been learning all about how to stay safe on the roads. The children have completed activities in the classes including ordering the stages of crossing the roads, debating their thoughts about road safety.
Also we had a special visitor, a Lollypop Lady, who came in to talk to us about how to stay safe.
Remember... stop, look, listen and think!
